For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Fabulous Restored 1944 Parker Vacumatic Emerald Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Arrow Clip, Gold Filled Chevron Cap Banding (\\\///) and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the blue diamond gold filled clip that does not display any brassing. The chevron cap banding is in excellent condition with no brassing. The top jewel is black and has been polished to bring back a gorgeous shine. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 4, for 1944, in the second quarter". The transparency of the barrel is water clear and one can easily see through the barrel - hard to find these like this! The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

The Vacumatic Filling System has the proper plastic filling unit for this 3rd Generation Vacumatic. It works great, typically in my tests with water about 7-8 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and flawlessly.

The Parker NIB is a 14K gold Split Arrow Nib. The nib on this Parker Vac writes smoothly which makes for a pleasurable writing experience. The actual tip/writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .64mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with a fine to double broad stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .55mm and the double broad stroke measures 1.24mm when measured with digital calipers under medium to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is fantastic having near water clear barrel transparency in the gorgeous Emerald Pearl celluloid color - not easy to find with this barrel transparency and makes for a real collector grade fountain pen. I would grade this Parker Vac in Excellent Condition. It is ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
